But between the work it needs (which I'd have to pay to have done), the cost of shipping it to ATL and the GA tax I'd have to pay to register it, it may make sense to sell it and replace when I get there. I understand it's actually a good driver in the snow IF a) you have good snows (I hear Blizzaks are the best on that car) on all four corners, and b) you can keep them on the ground.
I bought this car at about 40,000km and so far after 8,000km it has olny cost me gas, and 1 oil change that I will need to do this week. See stats for powertrain and chassis repairs. You could pick up a nice clean NA miata for $4k, turbo it and upgrade suspension for another $3k and you would spank the Z3. honestly, when I had my 318ti.. the most exotic tool I needed was an inch pound torque wrench for the waterpump and thermostat bolts. 1.9 Z3 does not have the maintenance issues the 6 cylinder cars do. But that gets away from some of what makes a Miata fun. It doesn't feel like as much of a toy as a Miata.

The Mazda Miata, however, lacks a few things that are included in BMW. Now at this point, you have already angrily made a comment about Mazda reliability and how the spunky little roadster will never leave you stranded like a finicky German luxury sports car. The BMW Z4 will cost more in transportation costs than the Mazda MX-5 Miata.

semi-trailing arms are -not- as good as a good set of double A arms.. but unless you are on the track or doing something stupid on the street.. the rear suspension on the Z3 is perfectly fine.
